Family Home
QUEENS PARK
Refreshed and renewed.
This home was reworked to become a more comfortable and airy residence for a family returning to Australia from New York. With new architecture by Atelier DAU and a refreshed garden by Dangar Barin Smith, new furniture was selected to provide comfortable and contemporary living spaces.
City Apartment
ELIZABETH BAY
Textured and warm city pad.
A north facing apartment overlooking Elizabeth Bay and Sydney Harbour, was given a warm and textured refresh just before the clients moved in to their new neighbourhood. New furniture, lighting, artworks, rugs and outdoor furniture were selected to create an air of calm, contrast and comfort in the city.
Fresh Kitchen
BIRCHGROVE
Bright, light, right.
This project replaced a tired and dark kitchen with a bright new functional family hub. Abundant natural light has lifted the new kitchen and created a beautiful space to cook, work and hang out in.
City Cafe
SYDNEY CBD
Updating a Seidler classic.
Sarah Johnson Studio has recently reworked the cafe space in the Alliance Française building in Sydney’s CBD. The refurbishment was realised for the gluten free Wholegreen Bakery, who took the leap from Clovelly to add a new city site located on the ground level of one of Harry Seidler’s last built projects in Clarence Street. The update works with the existing palette of travertine, granite and the sculptural stairs to deliver a fresh take, with new chairs, retail display, a large communal table, new leather banquette and new timber joinery. The upgrade reduced visual clutter with new lighting, an openness and provides a range of seating options to accommodate a range of customers. Photographs by Louise Hawson
